HoYoverse took advantage of the Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2026, held on August 25, to officially reveal Nodusfall. The new project is a cooperative action game developed in Unreal Engine 5, with a realistic visual proposal and dark fantasy setting. The presentation generated immediate repercussions, with coverage from outlets such as Game8, Notebookcheck, Shacknews and Gematsu the very next day. Despite the impactful trailer, the company did not disclose the release date or the platforms on which the game will be available. What is known so far is that pre-registration is already open on the official website.
In Nodusfall, players take on the role of Weavers, specialized hunters who face mythological creatures from various cultures. The premise blends myths from around the world into a cohesive universe, with combat focused on cooperative action. The choice of Unreal Engine 5 suggests an ambitious level of graphical detail, with advanced lighting and dense environments. HoYoverse, known for titles such as Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, is now betting on a more adult and dark tone, different from the anime style that marked its previous releases. The shift in aesthetic direction caught the attention of the specialized press and the community.

With Gamescom serving as the stage, Nodusfall enters a competitive scenario filled with major releases in the genre. Titles such as Monster Hunter Wilds and Genshin Impact itself already occupy space in players' minds, but the proposal to explore real mythologies in a co-op action game could be a differentiator. The initial reaction on social media was mostly positive, with praise for the visuals and setting. HoYoverse, however, needs to prove it can deliver a complete experience, away from the balance and gacha controversies that mark its other games. For now, all that remains is to follow the next announcements and hope the wait is not long.
