Sony confirmed on Monday, August 31, that it will hold two consecutive State of Play events next Thursday, September 3. The broadcasts start at 10 AM, Brasília time, and will be shown live on YouTube and Twitch. The first event will bring updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, according to the PlayStation Blog. The big highlight is the ending, which will feature an extended presentation of the world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, from Square Enix. The information was echoed by Game Informer and Eurogamer right after the official announcement.

Immediately after the end of the main broadcast, Sony will start the State of Play Japan, a special edition dedicated to games developed by studios from Japan and other Asian countries. The program will be presented again by Yuki Kaji, the voice actor known for voicing Eren in Attack on Titan. According to the official statement, the audience can expect in-depth analyses, new gameplay videos, announcements, and information about projects in development. The broadcast will be in Japanese, with English subtitles available, while the first State of Play will have English audio and Japanese subtitles.

The two consecutive events mark a strategy by Sony to give more space to both its Western productions and the Asian market, which has gained strength in the platform's portfolio. In addition to Final Fantasy VII Revelation, there are speculations about possible news from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, from Naughty Dog, and other already announced titles like Marvel's Wolverine and God of War Laufey. In the last State of Play, held in June, the company showed games like Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen and Until Dawn 2. Now, it remains for the public to follow Thursday's broadcasts to see what Sony has prepared for the end of 2026 and beyond.
