WEMIX Fights Back: ROM: Golden Age will Launch Amid Token Turmoil

Despite a 60% crash in the WEMIX token after a delisting by South Korea’s top exchanges, Wemade is doubling down on its blockchain gaming strategy with ROM: Golden Age. This Web3 reboot of KakaoGames’ 2024 MMORPG ROM: Remember of Majesty is set for a Q3 2025 release, blending hardcore RPG mechanics with NFT trading. Developed by RedLab Games, it builds on the success of MIR4 and Night Crows, aiming to avoid past inflation issues while expanding Wemade’s global reach.

WEMIX’s troubles began with a $6.2 million hack in February 2025, followed by a delayed disclosure that sparked a 40% token drop. The May delisting by exchanges like Upbit and Bithumb led to another 60% plunge. Wemade responded with a $7.5 million token buyback, stabilizing the price and reassuring investors. Meanwhile, MIR4 Season 2 launched on June 10, introducing the EXDRA2 token and refining NFT mechanics, proving the model’s resilience.

Wemade’s global strength is evident: in 2024, 72.7% of its revenue (₩518.1 billion of ₩711.8 billion) came from international markets. With ROM: Golden Age, Legend of YMIR, and Black Vultures on the horizon, Wemade is betting on high-quality blockchain games to restore its reputation. As one analyst noted, “WEMIX isn’t dead—it’s just respawning.”
