In March 2025, a metallic sphere landed in Buga, Colombia, after witnesses saw it descend from the sky, flashing colorful lights. Dubbed the “Buga sphere,” its engraved symbols and odd properties have sparked wild theories about extraterrestrial tech. Now under study by ufologist Jaime Maussan’s team, it’s become a hot topic for UFO fans and skeptics alike.

X-ray scans, conducted by UNAM radiologist José Luis Velázquez Ramirez using a veterinary device, revealed a dense outer shell, porous inner materials, and 16 microspheres around a central core. Described as “rare” and “unique,” the sphere shows no welds, hinting at advanced construction. But not everyone’s convinced—metallurgist Sandro Gonçalves criticized the equipment, pushing for industrial X-ray or non-destructive testing for clearer results.
The debate keeps the Buga sphere in the spotlight. Maussan’s team plans to team up with U.S. scientists for more rigorous analysis, hoping to crack whether it’s alien or earthly. For now, this shiny enigma continues to baffle, leaving us wondering if it’s a cosmic clue or just a clever hoax.
